Mercury Retrograde Sagittarius Sauk Mountain Switchbacks

Sauk Mountain Trail Switchbacks, Rockport Washington 1,100′ Elevation gain

This is the last Mercury Retrograde of 2017! The next one will be in March 2018 in Aries, another fire sign! Revisions will be spirited! Last Rx, Leo/Virgo, I touted as the most significant of 2017 due to the US Total Solar Eclipse during the Rx and all the New & Full Moon connections! This one is important because it hosts Saturn’s 29 year sign connection with the Galactic Center, and its change from Sagittarius into its own sign Capricorn! Mercury guides us across this threshold, stirring things up so we see the living process of Father Time’s sign change.

While Saturn is still in Sagittarius, it is conjunct the GALACTIC CENTER, 26 Sagittarius, Nov 15 to 23! The Mercury Rx cycles starts Nov 15, so for the first 8 days of the Rx cycle, it is a time of ‘huge infusion,’ the portal to and through the Galaxy and beyond is available! And, the Nov 18 Scorpio New Moon makes us a more sensitive receiver, deepens our perceptions. Dec 17 the Sun makes its annual conjunction with the GC, but this time its the Sagittarius New Moon, Moon and Sun, AT the GC! Since it is during Mercury retrograde, it performs some kind of a retrieval, a remembrance, revives something that must be updated, regathered and not left behind.

In those 8 days Saturn is at the GC, Mercury is 13 to 24 degrees Sagittarius. Mercury will recross those degrees twice more, retrograde Dec 10-22, then when forward Dec 22 to Jan 6, finishing the Mercury Rx cycle. Mercury will itself conjunct the GC 3 times – Nov 26/27, Rx Dec 8 and Jan 7/8, 2018. At the times Mercury is in the degrees it was at when Saturn was at the GC, and when Mercury conjuncts the GC, take special time to check in, be more alert to signs. Ask that the highest be done and that you be shown how to get there, whether it is personal or for the world. Blessed be.

Switchbacks, retrogrades, make it easy to get up the mountain, make it possible! This Rx is in Sagittarius, and Sagittarius would surely be going up as the ascending arrow, its sign symbol, indicates. You do need to be careful that you don’t kick rocks off the trail, as there are often others below you.

As you ascend, the Sagittarian view just keeps getting bigger, more expansive, inclusive. You get a picture of the layout of the land and where the people are. You make adjustments in your thinking and attention. Unless you have been on that trail before, it’s still a guess if the next rise is the top or a false top with more yet to go. At the top it can be exhilarating, even if it is plenty hot, or cold as all get out plus a dangerous icy wind and slippery! Sometimes it’s a languishing picnic, fill-your-eyes rest stop, pictures of all directions, poses of prowess! Other times it’s a quick snap, we made it, let’s get down outta here! But you did it!

Use retrogrades fully by being alert, open to the broader view, new opportunities. As with mountain hikes, there are new visions around the corner, greater options possible, because the other planets keep right on moving, while Mercury is refreshing the screen and thinking things through. One step leads to another. Things absolutely do change! They are supposed to.

Dates, Degrees & Signs

The three part cycle starts Nov 15 at 13 Sag. Mercury goes up to 29 Sag, the very end of Sag, and retrogrades Dec 2, back to 13. He then turns forward, direct, Dec 22, the day after Winter Solstice (Saturn newly in Capricorn as of Dec 19) and goes back to 29 Sag on Jan 10, 2018, crosses the threshold into Capricorn that very day, and continues on into the New Year.

The Mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sag and Pisces will be challenged. Earth signs Taurus and Capricorn prefer things stable and steady, but they are not exempt. Other fire, Aries and Leo, and air signs, Libra and Aquarius, will enjoy the shifts and changes! Mercury will midpoint sextile connect with Libra and Aquarius acting as their go between, plugging in astounding ideas just as fast as they can take them in. Have a party with all your Libra, Sag and AQ friends!

If the retrograde connects with your chart, here are some good tips!

Prepare well for the retrograde. Get mechanical items serviced – with Sag, that especially means vehicles, travel conveyances and image devices – cameras, video, telescopes, cell phones. Get new apps well in advance, and learn to use them with ease. Be sure traveling companions have all their shots, including your pets. Have your schedule handy. Keep your goals in mind, though don’t be surprised if they suddenly change directions!

During the retrograde, keep irreplaceable valuables with you. No stowing with your luggage in the hold. No important papers tossed in the backseat because you are in a hurry. Keep your keys in mind, slow down and don’t lock them in the car! You could temporarily put them on a tether device around your neck – glasses too. Mercury Rx is famous for losing things, though sometimes something lost in the last Rx turns up in the current one! Don’t forget to immediately change your appt book the minute an adjustment is made in your timing. Call in advance to be certain you are scheduled and at the time you think the appt is. Scout about for paperwork needed at least the day before. Do get people to sign things that need to be signed, including yourself! Make follow up appts because we know automatically things will require further adjustments. It isn’t done until the 3rd phase is done Jan 10!

Take big promises with a grain of salt. Sagittarians believe in big and better, but due to no fault of their own, things change and the deal can’t be made after all. They didn’t lie, they just didn’t know. During Mercury Rx, give the benefit of the doubt.  However, if one falls through, an even better one can happen! One just clears the way or leads to the next!

Never be afraid of a retrograde! It stirs the pot. Even as cherished ideas go up in flames, especially in Sagittarius, another door opens. Again, something better has the space to happen. Gather yourself. Grab it with your teeth and shake it for the best to fall out! Don’t let go until it does! Plan to use every precious bit of information that comes your way. The computer goes down? Get a better one, upgrade, get one better suited to your needs. A vacation falls through? Choose a better time and something more potent than your previous choice. Really look at it. You and circumstances have changed since you made that first plan. The dog eats your script? What you write next is surprisingly so much better! You were devastated at first, but now actually glad that happened! Your life will get better. Give it reasonable time and be proactive. The outcome depends partly on YOU! Be there!

After the Retrograde! In the third phase, the direct part when the retrograde is finishing, tidy up. Take a look at what you are left with, polish it, integrate it well. Make further plans with what goes well with you. Follow up on the best ideas. Get connected with some good people going your way! Grab one or two or three experienced consultants in your field and invite those people traveling your way. Hear them all out and merge some of your and their ideas and plans. Not all of their particular options may be ones you use now, maybe later, but they get you thinking! It’s likely to turn out much better than you expected! Collaboration makes things multiply! Each of you can promote the main project from your special vantage points!

There are three important outer planet factors during this Retrograde cycle! That’s not common since outer planets move more slowly. Here’s the timetable:

Jan  12  3rd Mercury conjunct Saturn, Capricorn
Jan  15  1st Jupiter sextile Pluto More on this soon….
Jan  16  Capricorn New Moon

RETROGRADE starts Dec 2 the same day as Jupiter, Sagittarius’s planet, trines Neptune. It is considered a Dreams-come-true aspect, travel and Soul healing. A good time to consult the Oracle’s Oracle, yet with Mercury starting his journey, all will not come out as predicted! Mercury in Sagittarius can lead Scorpio on, both can be a bit of tricksters. Mercury by nature, ruling Virgo, is opposite Pisces. Mercury co-rules Gemini, square Pisces, and in Sagittarius square Pisces, reports may be difficult to confirm, and even if confirmed, are not solid indicators. And yet Jupiter trine Neptune is considered wondrous, capable of significant miracles and psychic! Go eyes open, trust your core.

To add to it, the Dec 3 Gemini/Sagittarius Full Moon follows the next day! Gemini Moon sees a thousand facets; Sun in Sagittarius tries to gather them to a focus. Moon is intuitional and she knows when things are not in divine order in communications. She can be protective of the information held close to her bosom though Sag tries to tease her to tell. Mercury has two signs, Gemini is one. So he now in Sagittarius opposite Gemini, is at his most extensive range, with the Sun, is also circling for clues. Another scenario might be Sag is a bit opinionated; Moon floods him with ideas and data that alter his point of view. Moon provides vital information; Sagittarius takes it with him for upleveling, pondering as he goes. Mercury observes the exchange, new chapters will be written!

Saturn changes the game by leaving Sagittarius and going into his own sign Capricorn December 19 3 days before the Retrograde ends! That’s during the 8 day Rx/Direct (forward) station when Mercury appears to ‘stand still’ in the sky. There is a holding tank of information, a focus, a concentration of thought, an anchoring of ideas. With Saturn in Cap a serious tone descends. More is expected. It’s not just fun and contemplation. Things need to get done, responsibilities taken, papers signed. Saturn builds strong, expects you to exceed your past. They will help you if they can. Winter Solstice adds the Sun into Capricorn the day before Mercury turns Direct (out of Rx). Mercury instantly senses the shift and knows he needs to backup his hopes with solid evidence if possible to carry on, cross the breach, be in sync with the tidal shift.

At first he may not seem to catch on or keep up because he is in Station, standing still, 4 days before and after the turn point. He’s absorbing, assimilating, focusing, anchoring the plans. At this sacred time of Winter Solstice, the longest Nights, Mercury’s ideas and thinking patterns will be deepened, fortified. No matter how much Saturn may want Mercury on board, the plans that have been made, after much consideration, are not to be abandoned. Mercury will be holding the Sag Light until Jan 10, when he crosses the line into Capricorn to join Saturn. See more about Saturn’s sign shift

The three part cycle finishes the same day Mercury joins Saturn in Capricorn Jan 10. Mercury conjuncts Saturn Jan 12, Jupiter sextiles Pluto Jan 15! When it’s done, it’s done! Mercury, the Communicator, now out of Sag and in Capricorn, can present his ideas to Saturn in the way Saturn can understand since his sign is Capricorn! It will be up front and personal Jan 12 when they are together. Jupiter sextile Pluto wants volumes of healing, both personal, as couples and business partners. Jupiter knows when he has a tough room, yet he is amazing at telling the funny story and making them laugh anyway. He also knows when trust is an issue. Now in Scorpio, Jupiter knows about Pluto only too well. And Pluto in Capricorn is rarely fooled or made to do anything he doesn’t want to. Mercury is intrigued by seeing Jupiter at work, and may offer Jupiter some data to help his presentation, request. Mercury may offer Pluto some quick but pivotal advice, and bingo, Pluto is on board and it’s a good deal!

Mercury repeats aspects to Saturn and Uranus….

Throughout the cycle, Mercury trines Uranus three times! Mercury is the thinking process; Uranus is considered to be higher mind, how to join many souls, worldwide networks to promote both rational and etheric thought. Mercury in Sagittarius expands principles of attention and expression to intrigue Souls to gather ’round! Already the process is started by coaching by example as thoughts are shared and upleveled, hope instilled, having a steady outlook. Uranus is the Light and Sound waves that carry group thought around the world, brings R/Evolution. It invents options like the Internet, and planes, and one day we will have teleportation. Let your mind shift freely. Tune in.

Mercury does conjunct Saturn three times. The first two are in Sagittarius, but the third, however, is in Capricorn two days after the Mercury Rx cycle is complete! While in Sag, Mercury consults with Saturn, Capricorn’s planet, then, because Saturn changes signs mid Rx, Mercury completes the conjunctions when Saturn is at his full power! First Mercury speculates in Sag, then after all is said and done, commits to the chosen Path in Capricorn. He works hard gathering data so choices will be informed, no time wasted. Mercury is not always serious, sometimes mischievous, but in Capricorn he focuses as it life depended on it, and sometimes it does! Blessed be.

Mercury aspecting Saturn and Uranus, triggers awareness of how precious our commitments are and how much we need freedom too. Saturn holds us together and stabilizes our communities, at times our very survival. Uranus invites innovation, change, evolution, sometimes on a large scale with far reaching effects! Networking, connection is a potent and necessary life force, sometimes uniting us internationally. Intentionally we can breathe together collectively, securing our survival in the future as well!

Sagittarius, this Mercury retrograde’s sign, is a student, a teacher, traveler of mind and body, has long term purpose in mind, great faith in the future. Confidence abounds, risks are taken and often succeed! They are super storytellers, often published!  Sagittarius will hold the compass and keep us on course. Even if they lose the compass, they were born with directional instinct. Trust it. When it all seems too much, they will tell stories of heroes and heroines and hope is restored! They speak of the achievement of our dreams, what that will look like. We are guided to make the best choices to get us there, step by step we go on. Walk the Path together.

This Sign change, and the last Saturn square Neptune Sep 10, occur between two VIRGO eclipses! Sep 1 Solar ECLIPSE, New Moon is first, then the Sep 16 Lunar ECLIPSE, Full Harvest Moon! All this is during the Virgo Mercury Retrograde Aug 30 to Sep 21! The Jupiter Sign change is followed by the Sep 22 Sun’s sign change into Libra, Fall Equinox! The Sun will conjunct Jupiter, then at 2 Libra 49, a very lucky combination! And Mars will be conjunct the Galactic Center, transmitting from 26 Sagittarius!

Jupiter in Virgo‘s exceptional craftsmanship has attracted the notice of Libra’s who appreciate the finest art! In Libra, a worthy long term partnership may be formed. Quality is a gift in itself, and may assure the intrinsic value of the gift offered. Jupiter may have worked long and traveled far to arrive at this special time and meet YOU!

Jupiter is known to be casual, a seasoned traveler able to do well with the useful minimum. In Virgo we may have had budgets, healers and horses. Libra will bring well groomed poodles and spending some of that money! Libra enjoys sociality and elegance, from tux at the ballet to exquisite gowns at the symphony. The fine art gallery or the local art show are on their agenda. Jupiter loves a good story, so invite them to play the part to maximize the benefits! This combination makes for fundraising like you had only dreamed of!

Jupiter is playful, so expect some jokes and joviality, maybe a few bets, along the sidelines. Maybe that is just the icebreaker needed, a little friendly competition to start the juices flowing. There will likely be a faux pas once in awhile, but usually they are forgiven. We are all human. They meant well, and surprisingly things work out great!

Libra is so courteous and tactful. Jupiter is no fool, so can see the value in establishing well balanced relationships with respect and kindly words. With Jupiter’s confidence and friendliness with people from many lands, and Libra’s cross cultural camaraderie at the table, they are a hit and the sale is made, the contract negotiated fairly, a long term alliance celebrated!

Jupiter has many interests, some of them foreign. In Libra, expect to see the world. Jupiter loves to teach; Libra can gather the Souls, anthropology in action. Jupiter can publish; Libra finesses the script perfectly. Jupiter is the Judge; Libra loves the Law and makes great lawyers. Jupiter has perspective, integrity and super Faith and helps Libra hold the line and stick with the long term meaningful decision. Libra helps Jupiter see both sides before leaping to assumptions! They are a good team.

Libra is good at team sports and peaceful competition. Baseball, relays, synchronized. Dance, ballet, Tai chi, balance. Jupiter enjoys games, being robust, racing, skiing, skating, horseback riding. Make it all an art. Show that big doggie, fine horse! Try some figure skating! Do good things for your figure! Eat less, eat well.

Jupiter is a daytime planet and Libra a daytime but Sunset sign. They love a starlit night with candles and a lovely long view of the Milky Way to keep Jupiter’s happiness. Wish upon a star. If they do things they both love together, a relationship can be formed. Otherwise, this may be a ‘it was fun to have met you’ affair. But you will change. It was memorable and still special. You Libras got more courage and Jupiterians more grace.

Venus is Libra’s planet, so many couples will be in the marrying mood! Businesses associated with marriage and travel will thrive! Yet, Jupiter, the wanderer, isn’t always an easy catch. If not the marrying type, or not ready, they vanish or just don’t show up. If things go well for your relationship, Jupiter IS THE luckiest planet of all! Jupiter in Libra marriages may be truly and exponentially blessed! You two together will be more successful in Love and Business than you ever were separately on your own. Jupiter into LIBRA 2016 Astrology Chart

Sep 9, as Jupiter makes the sign change into LIBRA, Jupiter stands alone, in no close degrees to any  other chart factors. It is free to act, or unconnected, yet Libra is a sign of relationships.

In time it stands with the last exact Saturn square Neptune Sep 10, the day after the sign change! That aspect has brought sadness, breakdowns, endings, losses. The square has been strong and close to 10 Sagittarius from April 13 to Oct 31. Paris, Orlando, many floods. At the same time, it has shown us the great needs, many have forgiveness, great kindnesses have been shown, and determination to rebuild and change shows amazing resilience though having suffered greatly.

Mercury is RETROGRADE at 24 Virgo, headed back to 14 Virgo 49. We must rethink many things to find better ways. In Virgo it is new health practices in our lives, business systems, financial management, cleaning up our homes and environment, giving our pets better care. It’s paying attention to when people need our help yet not depleting ourselves in the process. Virgo is a sensible mutable Earth sign, born to make these adjustments with the least fuss. Get your rest, hug your family and carry on.

Mercury is retrograding to opposition Chiron and inconjunct Uranus. This is important because Mercury is keeping the energy of their recent aspects in our mind and the reverse aspects of their previous sets start in December and carry through 2017! See More!

Sun in Virgo is in square with Moon and Mars in Sagittarius. Could be some impatience in the wind, grumpy rumblings. Work versus running away, responsibility versus independence now! Again, mutable signs, so look for the good, make the adjustments, and keep moving. You can clean up messes and fine tune later! Get what you can done, take some time outs for fun!

Venus, Libra’s planet has sextiled Saturn, happily made the job more productive, restored some broken relationships, let others go on their way in their own style. Perhaps an almost marriage. Venus has inconjuncted Neptune, wondering why the wandering, yet has caught glimpses of unmendable broken hearts, dreams that could come true, Spirit that leads us. Libra, an air sign, is the ever so logical lawyer, but sometimes the balance of heart and matter leads to a creative solution that pleases the kindred Soul of all. Venus wants what she wants, but you can’t own people. Her ultimate grace and kindness wins the day.

She will stand trial square Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto rules Scorpio the sign after Libra. Libra prepares the relationships for the deeper dealings of Scorpio, intimacy, financially, death and rebirth, detoxing and healing. Serious matters. Venus can be frivolous with fru frus, cosmetics, flowers, clothes & jewelry. She loves the elite musics and entertainment, ballet, plays. Capricorn brings her up short and says we need to pay the rent and think of possible needs for savings for a rainy day, and fix the roof, you know. Sigh. Ok, so a bit of both? She will pale and die if there are no pretties at all. And Cap can get too gruffy and stuffy for his own good. Grab him and take him out to play! Just might like it after all! :)

Don’t expect to make an easy love match with this square. It will either take time, there are family, financial or career or educational setbacks, a broken engagement, age is an issue. Sometimes it is wiser to let go and find happiness elsewhere another time. It may seem bleak at this time, but is worth the wait. Remember, these aspects will be in different formations with each of your different charts. Check with a couple astrologers to see and confirm your specific personal timing.

Moon and Mars are trine Uranus, so there are some unexpected, yet not surprising either, opportunities soon ahead. Time to try out new adventures! Get outdoors, try a new sport, a new gym! New friends, a different new group is likely to invite you!

Jupiter will be in Libra until Oct 10, 2017! When the Sun goes into Libra this year, it will conjunct Jupiter at 2 Libra 49! That is a lucky combination, so Libras will get off to a great start and Fall Equinox will be glorious!

Happy Jupiter in Libra to you all! Happy travels, great learning, bountiful relationships!

Lights on, heads up!  Get out your Jupiter thunderbolts and let’s dance!

July 2, Dec 6, and Feb 14, Valentine’s Day 2012, Jupiter in Taurus sextiles Chiron in Pisces! This one will be while Chiron is at 5 Pisces, the first of the three times. July 2 is the last day of the Sun Grand Square, so the build up to this sextile will be challenging, and the challenge will be helped by the teaching healing perspectives the sextile brings. In addition, the Grand Square will be helped by the concurrently building first-time July 7 Jupiter trine Pluto in Capricorn only 5 days later! That will bring phenomenal growth, power, possible wealth, and potential teaching healing, intensify complex situations. I doubt solutions will be simple or immediate, but they will certainly be fascinating! July 7 is the first day of the Venus Grand Square through the 13th, so the follow through needs a bit of finesse. Let love soften the obstacles even, perhaps especially, when the going already seems good. This will be like a little super challenge. Make a point of loving it uP!

Chiron and Pluto are both thought to be healers. Chiron is concerned with teaching, marriage and business, all partnerships of a kind. Teacher/Student, you and your mate, your business/customers – clients/partners.  In Pisces, they need to be magical!  Fiery spirited Jupiter likes teaching too. It travels about, goes to college, gathers a plethora of knowledge, stories, experience, inter cultural sharing, and brings it to the table for exchange. Jupiter is not so often interested in marriage, can be hard to catch. They are off to another adventure. They can be truth tellers, having points of view acquired on the road.  They see you well because they don’t know you, yet are astute observers since their survival depends on instant appraisals. Whether it be about you, your attitude, or the dynamics in your relationship, they likely have at least a part of the truth. True, they can project, seeing through their own lens, but still, what in you called that up in them? Jupiter is not as interested in money as Chiron and Pluto are. They make do as they go. They laugh and love, have fun, are offered shelter for their stories, do an odd job or two here or there, just enough for food maybe. They have expansive ideas, can see further beyond, since they must anticipate the weather, the temp of the locals, where it’s safe or not. Often their suggestions pan out, quite worth your hospitality, let alone the entertainment value!

Pluto is a no fool-around planet.  It seeks the Great Mystery, unabashedly looks at sex, wants to know how money works, and how it is we come to live and die.  It especially doesn’t fool around in Capricorn, that wants the job done toot sweet.  If things are not working, good, you find that out, done with it.  If you are going up the mountain at a steady pace, good, progress.  Cut losses when it makes sense, less whining, more doing.  It’s all ok.  Focus, use good timing, don’t give up.  Seek coaches and mentors right now!  Jupiter will laugh with you all the way to the bank because it has big ideas and is a great direction finder!  It just knows where the good stuff is!

Both these aspects are positive in classical astrology, so invite a teacher, traveler, soothsayer, to your table. Then listen. Learn about healing – of body, mind, Spirit. Plan a clever party, and laugh because you can and it’s even fun when you are on your knees!  Be free and thankful!

Make your appointment for a reading to see which areas of your chart these and other factors are activating!

The Aries Fire Stellium is OVER.  Now as we enter Taurus, the sign of loyalty and steadfastness, what was new, or did you start, during that Aries stellium, that you would like to continue to have in your life?  What value did you bring in that you are happy to maintain?  I have a new student who is new to astrology, and she is taking in the principles amazingly quickly!  I started sharing some more garden space with another community gardener, and intend to grow crops I will harvest to store for winter food.

Wise old Saturn is holding the fort at his 10 degree Libra station (appears to be stationary, still, in the sky) from May 18 to July 8, turning direct (forward) June 12.  Those of you with planets at 8 through 12 degrees will feel the need to enforce or question the rules, make or break commitments, let go or take responsibility, respond to age issues, make career choices, engage in father/ing matters, build for a stable future.  Being overwhelmed burdens the Soul; timing that fits the deed and your needs and your Spirit makes all the difference.  Focus and do your best.  Make yourself proud!

Jupiter is making his last stand in Aries until entering earthy Taurus June 4, starting off a fine Saturday!  That will leave only Uranus in Aries, the lone wolf on its own again, but happily so in a sign of its same spirit, both Uranus and Aries loving freedom and independence!  Jupiter in Aries gives a last chance these 14 days to start what we will, get educated to be encouraged, have confidence, to lead the way, or follow someone we trust well.  It could be more fun than you have ever had before!  Frolicking is good!  Roller skate, hike, ride your bike!  Continue it with Jupiter in Taurus exercise; do the fun kind!  Long horseback rides, mountain walks, walk your dog!  Endurance and strength sports are satisfying.  Long distance and heavy weight.

Jupiter, good luck, fame, huge growth, in attractive Venus ruled Taurus can attract more money than God – they call it a BULL MARKET when the stock market is going UP!  Jupiter in Taurus can keep that money, hordes of it, may travel to the ashram for an extended stay, found a non-profit organic farm, raise horses, buy fine art, start an imported cosmetics franchise, do melting massages at the spa on the train, drive a huge moving truck, give sculpting seminars!  It may get off to a slow start, but once rolling, it just keeps going.  Dedicated, determined, loyal.  Simple, common sense solutions.  Luxurious hair, earthy beauty, natural fabrics, furs.  It looks further ahead than its own two feet, so makes ‘lucky’ choices.  Well grounded, centered, satisfied, peaceful.  Smooth jazz.

Jupiter may, at this time, be even a bit more languid than just the easy-go-flow of Taurus because it is sextile Neptune (only this one time, not the usual 3 times) upon entry into Taurus, makes the exact aspect June 8!  Both are ‘religious’ in that Jupiter rules churches and sets the tenets of faith; Neptune is the Pisces planet, Pisces being the sign of spiritualism, meditation, meeting God on your own terms, often religious diversity.  Jupiter usually calls for adherence to the church’s philosophy, though can be open-minded and take up religious studies.  Pisces, is perhaps more Buddhism oriented, compassionate, yet can believe so passionately as to give one’s life for the cause, a devotee who lives in silence and service in the spiritual abode 24/7.  This aspect offers what works for you, the best of both, in your everyday life.  Jupiter in Taurus loves the armchair more than the airfare.  There better be a good reason to take that trip.  Probably chooses to make oms at home!  Neptune is now in Pisces, its own sign.  It, like Taurus, is usually gentle.  But don’t let this fool you.  Being gentle is one of the greatest powers on earth.  A good teacher can ask clever questions, sneak right up on you and let you think you thought of it yourself!  Feeling and being safe, opens all the gateways for learning.  Your eyes open right up wide with the happiness of the leap – insights, epiphanies, are the order of the day!  Let it be!  Make music!

Uranus Square Pluto, Royal Wedding Chart, William & Kate!

Uranus square Pluto is starting, now 5 degrees in orb.  That will keep things shaking!  Oops, maybe I shouldn’t say that.  Uranus in Aries is the rebellious young upstart compared to the wizened Pluto burrowing the depths of corporate Capricorn.  Yet Pluto is associated with journalism, follows the money, a trouble maker of a different ilk.  Power will be questioned.  Put them together and things that were thought to be impermeable may be disturbed at the deepest foundations, shaken to thunder!  Long standing old schools will have cracks in their armor, new conduits able to be begun.  Some will fall of their own finished weight, to be replaced for better benefit, or simply let go – no need to go further, job done.  Strange and wonderful new alliances will be tried and some will work and break through to whole new types of community models, building codes, laws.  Businesses once thought to be ridiculous will begin to prove themselves as the needs of the times and hidden technology comes to light to make them feasible.  Those who ride the snorty horse will fly!  Let those pawing hooves make fiery sparks!

Another take on Uranus into Aries, square Pluto.  This aspect is unique because it happens 7 times!  It will be exact for the first time June 23, 2012, finishing Mar 17, 2015, in effect for five years!

I wrote the above with no thought of the Royal Wedding, William & Kate, in mind.  Yet this is the most powerful aspect of the out most planets, longest in duration, in their wedding chart.  It will always be in their wedding chart, but the actual aspect in the sky will culminate Mar 17, 2015.  At that point it shall have made 7 exact connections at varying but close degrees.  If their marriage is surviving at that time, they will probably make it.  So much is being said about how their marriage is giving hope in hard economic times and following the years of sadnesses around Charles, Diana, and Camilla.  Perhaps this symbolizes breaking through old patterns of the monarchy, British financial reform.

Some are using the 11 AM start of the wedding for the wedding chart;  I am using the 11:20 AM pronouncement moment – the intent of the event before your peers.  If you really want to get technical about it, use the chart when the last person signed the papers for official records after the ceremony.  The 11 AM chart has Venus of love and beauty at the top of the chart, and the wedding did start on time, and was a lovely ceremony that went off without a hitch though William did have a hard time getting the ring on Kate’s finger (Saturn opposite Mercury).

Royal Wedding Chart, Prince William & Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge

The most unique feature of the wedding chart is that simplistically, the Moon is Void of Course in Pisces square the Galactic Center.  Void of Course, VOC, is the time period from when the Moon makes its last connection with any planet and the time it enters a new sign.  There are extreme opposing points of view of what this period brings.  The traditional view is nothing will come of it, it won’t come out as expected, somewhat unpredictable.  This is great if your question is ‘Will I go to jail?’!  Rarely would a VOC Moon be chosen for a wedding chart.  Since the Moon has directly to do with fertility and a royal heir is usually wanted, this would be doubly so in this case.  It is said, ‘…the moon relating to the mother, will give a mother who was ‘not there’ so to speak. she may not have been there physically, emotionally, or she may have been even neglectful.’  Will’s mother Diana, ‘not there,’ is an important facet of their lives together.  The other view is there is nothing to stop it, nothing to stand in its way.  Hilary Clinton’s Moon (women) is VOC in Pisces in her 10th house of career and authority!  First Lady.   There are exceptions to the VOC rule, and this chart has them.  The Moon is said to ‘perform’ in Pisces – Pisces lives to osmose!  When it changes signs it will conjunct Uranus at 2 degrees Aries – free to act! Mercury and Jupiter are in an angular house, the 10th – a place determined to accomplish.  Jupiter with Mars is lucky to act!  How to resist?!!!

Still, as compelling as those aspects are, organically, the Moon, back at 26 degrees, four to go to change Signs, I would give the VOC read precedence, attending to reading the Moon for herself.  Pisces does move, but it can be ever so cleverly quietly, miniscule motion, practically invisible.  The VOC Moon is like a pause.  Preceding matters have been concluded, we’re in the done-deal zone, with perhaps a sense that it was all fated.  This is like a thoughtful, perhaps resting, reset period, in internal adjustment readying for the next Sign, the Gateway.  It is a step in a process.  A chart with lots of upcoming Lunar aspects in a Sign has many unfolding options, a rich future if favorable, is busy.  In traditional successful wedding charts, the Moon is chosen to be in trine or sextile with the Sun, Mother and Father, the Lights in harmony for fertility, full of life!  This chart has no upcoming Lunar aspects, no classic Sun/Moon, male/female connection.

Pisces, the Moon’s Sign, is also an ending symbol, finishing symbol of maturity, being the last Sign of the Zodiac.  It too has to do with rest, contemplation, the unknown, unknowable, visioning.  To the negative side, it can be addictions, the victim/martyr, hidden agendas, fantasy versus reality.  For Kate going from commoner to Queen, it can be the dream come true, fairy tales.  Moon nurtures unconditionally; Pisces is the ultimate compassion.  It gives a dramatic counterpoint to the 5 planet Aries stellium (cluster – see below)!  Aries is noted for action, can be courageous first responders, but is not noted for ongoing care with deep sensitivity.  The Moon rules mothers, children, women in general, and Diana, the Goddess of the Hunt, in particular.  And Mother Diana was missing.  Pisces also rules being in Spirit form.  In the Abbey, closest to where William and Kate stood to take their vows, there were five chairs. Four of them were taken, by the Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla … and then there was an empty chair. Was that chair for Diana?

Some are saying this ‘lost’ Moon in ‘lost Pisces’ is symbolically a way of putting away Diana’s influence. Maybe so, but she was William’s mother. That concept doesn’t work for me. This Void of Course position is akin to an ‘escape’ planet, a planet that has no connections formed to it or by it. It is in a separate state, unhindered, but ineffective, sometimes a loose cannon since there is nothing to censor its choices, no outlets to siphon off energy. It’s behavior often seems inappropriate.  It’s one thing to ‘put away’ a matter, it’s quite another to not get any benefit from the Moon other than the Sign it is in.

Being on the brink of the Mayan calendar ending 2012, that event quite close to being at the Galactic Center, the Moon being a degree of square the Galactic Center seems significant!  Perhaps they will never take their kingdom or their kingdom, the monarchy system, will be ended, or it will be fraught with difficulties throughout their time.

Their Sun is in Taurus, a sign of fertility and stability, loyalty forever!  And there were earthy Pagan elements to the wedding.  Trees brought into the Abbey.  It was near Beltane – May Day celebration of fertility.  They had a hand wrapping – called handfasting in Pagan circles.  The archbishop who married them is a Druid!  And William’s full name is William Arthur Philip Louis, Arthur being the King of old mythical legends.

Leo Rising, the Ascendant, is a romantic Sign of Kings & Queens, great powers!  As Taurus, it is another fixed sign, cherishes its mate and takes a long time before it gives up.  It is generous, loves to teach, is thought to be selfish at times, is great fun to be around, has boundless energy!  Trine Venus, is kind, loves glorious beauty and color.  Their wedding was bright – William’s red uniform (Aries’ color).

FIVE planets in Aries!  Aries is not famous for finishing projects nor fertility, but is a splendid champion, passionate leader!  Both Leo and Aries are athletic.  The group of five starts with Uranus of community, international connections, freedom.  Then there is Venus, love of independence, heroes, celebrities, art by fire.  The MidHeaven in Aries decides to try new things in government, laws, status.  Mercury is next, with inspiring things to say, fresh insights.  Mars and Jupiter conclude together.  Mars here is in its own Sign, racy super action, with Jupiter is legendary!  Jupiter is what we think is righteous, good luck, horses and big dogs, expansion, future plans, travel, publishing, education!  Expect these two to broaden and brighten Britain!  Aries is less famous for stopping to make agreements, more famous for spontaneous action, sometimes fiery fights, but quickly over!  One way or another, this couple will make a lot of news!

With the Sun square the Ascendant, how you appear to others, they may not always look good.  Sun inconjunct Saturn, can be sad news at times.

Saturn at 12 Libra is at a midpoint opposition with Venus 10 Aries, MidHeaven 12 Aries and Mercury 14 Aries!  Sometimes duty will dominate, love and simply doing what you want to do will seem far, far away.  There may not always be time to talk, so many responsibilities.  And at times, it will just be good to be apart, a little room to navigate freely.

The Sun sextile Chiron of Marriage, and semi sextile Venus of love and affection, will soften and protect them, give a sweetness.

Sun trine Pluto is the number one US corporate wealth aspect!  If it works well in Britain too, their fortunes together are likely assured!  Saturn though square Pluto, and is going back, retrograde, to 10 degrees, never makes the exact square to Pluto at 7 degrees.  There will be financial scares, close calls, perhaps, but will never quite happen.  The issues of their country’s economics will always be of concern.

Spiritually speaking, whether by chance or chosen, a wedding chart is always perfect.  The couple has the ultimate final choice of date, time and place.  Whatever is the Soul’s agreement, agenda, the chart will show the way and be lived in all its intricacy.

If you didn’t see it and would like to, here is a link to watch the ceremony.  At the very beginning, note the lovely greenery in the abbey!
