This is the Full Moon of the Buddha celebrated worldwide.  The Buddha is thought to actually come to Earth in a Himalayan valley. Sitting as the Buddha, being grounded and centered, feeling completely aware of everything/nothing, having gentle compassionate wisdom, total peace, are what we seek. With two outer planets, Jupiter and Uranus, still in Aries, it might be more like Thich Nhat Hanh’s walking meditation, riding your bike long distance in the Zen of the flow.  But at the time of the Full Moon, there are FOUR planets in early Taurus, a stellium, starting with Venus, Taurus’s own planet, Mercury, then Mars, all three closely together in conjunction.  The Sun is last, at the end of Taurus.  Mars, Venus and Mercury are the planets associated with the first three signs of the zodiac, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, as if in summary of the three sacred festivals of the first three Full Moons of the year, Aries The Christ – Love, Taurus The Buddha – Wisdom, Gemini Humanity – The Word!

Taurus sits on the rock, walks in focused prayer and silence stopping to listen, touch the trees, tip and sniff the flower now and then.  It is one with Nature, loves the touch of all its textures.  Barefoot on soil presses minute particle to particle, draining away hysterical fear, replacing it with a neutrality from the soil that allows you to be free to see simplicity.  A Tao Te Ching phrase that has been with me a long time is ‘Do you have the patience to wait till your mud settles and the water is clear? Till right action arises by itself?’

Scorpio Moon?  Taurus is mine.  Scorpio is ours.  Sharing.  Mutual funds.  A gathering of resources from the deepest realms.  The Native American Underworld where power is sought, faced alone, Spirit your only Ally, imbued with a Sacred Trust.  The Greco/Roman mythological underworld of Hades.  Christian celibacy; tantric sexual intimacy, a merging beyond words.  The Pagan life sustaining storing of goods for winter sharing, a living reservoir of human connection.

Goddess Mother Moon, GrandMother Moon, lights these ‘dark’ places as fully as She can, with her Night Light, a gentle, more bearable Light, than the Light of Day.  This is a time to look upon the silver strands that connect us, absorb their meaning.  What binds us?  Money, Love, genetics, nothing we can explain?  Is it time to step across the barriers, cross the threshold to the next level?  To return to our prime mission?  To let go and keep walking?

Walk it, share as you can.  I will be being mindful the evening previous the Full Moon, and the 17th, in planetary prayer.  The Sun and Jupiter will be in the degree of the Galactic Center.  Join me in Spirit if you wish.  By your grace.

First, if you ever thought of Capricorn as a dark and gloomy sign, I am here to show you, per the Goats, Capricorn’s animal, what Capricorn, Saturn can be! Note that goat wink in the very beginning! If you love goats, you might have to watch it twice!

Now, with that in mind….

Capricorn, Saturn, the Sacred Builder to 2012

Here was the question: When Saturn (Capricorn’s Planet) leaves a house [could apply to a sign as well as a house], does he leave a reward? I’ve read both “yes” and “no.”

My response:

A few thoughts on how to prove how Saturn has worked for you or not – For the average size astrological house, if you use an unequal house system, Saturn takes 2 ½ years to go through, making aspects as he goes. You could track events to see what happened at those times, seeing your personal specific accumulated gain, changes and how you felt when you started and how you feel about those things now.  A lot can happen in 2 ½ years!

A long term way of looking would be to go back 29 years when Saturn was there before, see what you did then, and how different, or the same, your life is now.

Because Saturn moves that slowly, you may not perceive what you earned, being such an integral part of your daily affair, you don’t notice the difference until sometime later, when you hear yourself saying, Ah, that was the time when I …………………….   If the reward is a principle, a perception, a state of mind, change of attitude, in other words, invisible, you may not ‘see’ it. Count all your blessings.

If you did nothing, you could not only not get a ‘reward,’ but be in the hole. Classic Saturn phrases could be you get what you give, you reap what you sow – karma stuff. But even if that happens, you see that, and the gift/reward becomes your seeing that you need to do something to make something happen! You have to answer the phone, speak to the person that says ‘Hi,’ get out of your bed.

I don’t think it’s as much Saturn leaving a reward, as you meeting life. The question might be better put, ‘How did you meet the matters of that house when Saturn was in that house?’ Did you stand up to the plate, is it a weak spot?  The Spirit of Capricorn, an Earth sign, wants tangible results – did  you make the dream come true, make it so?!

Capricorn, Saturn, are the great builders, achievers – where transiting Saturn is now in your chart is where you are currently building.  May be small beginnings, but the seed is there. Though it may be under its soil covers at present, the seed is in the garden, and what seeds can become is amazing!  Oak and redwood trees, tall buildings!

Build on…on our way to 2012. You ARE the Architects of our future!

With Pluto in Capricorn since 2008 until 2024, just remember to get down on your knees frequently.  You know, Capricorn rules the knees – bending to Spirit’s will, supplication, surrender in a good way….   Little burro’s carry heavy loads…core strength is everything!  Doing knee exercises, will help with the kneeling….

Blessings to all you Capricorns, Happy Birthdays!
