Sagittarius - Bowl of Life! From Here to There!

This image may be a still life, but your life isn’t!  Sherrie Wolf knows how to capture perspectives of a Sagittaritan – abundance, distance, views of high places, a sense of joyous upwelling wellbeing!

Did you join me in gathering things in your Sagittarius Bowl Nov 30 until today, Dec 13?!

I find a wide array of items in my bowl today!
  1.  A now falling apart red rose
  2.  A randomly torn page from a book I threw away, too many personal notes it, that encourages one not to look to others for approval….
  3.  Pointy Acorns, one big, one little
  4.  Dried seed pods from a seaside mesa Neighborhood Garden Exchange
  5.  A small ceramic bowl with kitty drawn in it, gift from a garden friend
  6.  Shiny liberty $1, gift from an elder gentleman recovering from cancer
  7.  Some soil
  8.  Mary Wessely’s tarot counselor’s business card, The Sun
  9.  Package of Livingston parsley seeds (seeds again)
10.  Mini package of rice (hmm….more seeds)
11.  Persimmon leaf
12.  Liquid Amber leaf
13.  A sprig of brilliant flame colored fall leaves

I have enjoyed this fall season.  Great hiking weather.  Winter Solstice only a few days away now.  My bowl does tell some of my journey these last few days, has many stories in it.  The gathering bowl I used is an Italian bowl my dear step-daughter Ellen brought back with her.  It is painted gently with pink flowers, about 2″ high, 8″ diameter.  Please, tell me about your bowl and what you put in it!  What happened?!

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn has brought two people back into my life, both returning to Santa Barbara after long absences, 20 years, and 30 years!  It is not uncommon in these retrogrades for items and people to return.  In Capricorn it brings matters of long standing, often related with one’s Father, matters of the rules.

Today is also the day of the 5 conjunctions!  Use it well.  Our next Bowl, in Capricorn, the Third Bowl of 4, will be Dec 28 to Jan 10, 2011.  Subscribe to stay tuned!

Cancers to 2012, Emotional Temperance, Spiritual Balance

Night walk, evening birds settling, crickets, music drifting from open windows, a little jasmine, mmm.  And someone is baking an apple pie.  And you?  Are you worried, concerned for your children, something at school, your budget, your home needs some repairs, an elder parent needs more care than you might be able to give?  It’s ok.  Good time for emotional sorting, letting the day’s feeling flow by, letting go of what’s not important, what you can’t change, knowing things will work out, thinking about who you can rely on or reach out to.  Good.  Deep breath.  Just let go.  Bless you for being so loving and caring.

This is the perfect environment to use your intuition clearly, to make excellent decisions.  Others may be inundated with their fears, some are even high on their troubles, sleep may be a distant fantasy, crazy is right beside you!  Your reminding them we have natural cycles, cycles within cycles, that it simply won’t always be this way, can help them recenter, restore them to spiritual balance.   Next time it might be them calming you!

Maybe crabs walk sideways, to circle the issues, see things from all points of view.  They are walking around the Great Circle of Life, this time leading to 2012!  Hold my hand, let’s go together.

Summer Solstice Magic!

Summer is precious time!  You can migrate north, or stay and tend your garden!  You can set up a pool for the kids, take a journey!  If you are an urban farmer, there is at least triple the work!  Plants are bigger, more hungry, more maintenance, plus harvesting, and as they finish producing, soil needs refurbishing, more needs to be planted.  Also it is a time, even now, to be thinking of fall planting.  This is so Cancerian a time, nurturing, providing food for your family, securing the time to come.

Play is definitely on the agenda!  How can you resist the radiance of abundant flowers, the fine weather, wonderful outdoor swims and water sports, hiking, camping, barbeques, vacations!  The joy of these experiences together bring a natural bonding, support for each other.  Meeting new people on trips extends our cultural acceptance.  For young people, these are lifelong skills that strengthen our sense of self, we can be part of a larger community.

The loving protection and shelter, care without demanding a payment that Cancers give, allow a safe space for a precious innocence, exploration without bias.  The relaxation, summer’s heat melting us, lets us feel our feelings more deeply.  Along with all the brilliant sky and sunlight, summer can be a coming home, no matter where you are.

Summer Love & Magic! May your beauty shine among the stars!
