Capricorn 2018 New Year Full Wolf SuperMoon

How FIRST can you get?!

Happy New Year! First Full Moon, Wolf Moon, of January and 2018! And it is the closest – and thereby the largest Supermoon of 2018! This Full Moon is the second in a series of three successive full moon SuperMoons occurring on December 3, 2017, January 2 Capricorn/Cancer and Jan 31 Aquarius/Leo, 2018.

Moon is in her own sign Cancer, Neptune is in Pisces his own sign, and with Saturn newly in his own sign Capricorn, we have THREE planets in their own signs on New Year Day! Two of those are outer planets that hold long term meaning. They give us time to absorb, try out the many facets of their expertise in the sign they are in. Cancer is home, family, especially women and children, and our feelings, support for our wellbeing, cycles in our lives. Neptune is the Spiritual Master, maker of music, takes us to sea, heightens our senses. Saturn is the TaskMaster, dedicated to his work, gives financial support, rules Moon’s opposite sign. Traditionally Moon and Saturn, shelter and career, Mother and Father, are united in the cause to make a good way for the children.

The Full Moon lets us into 2018 gently with her exact aspects with Neptune in its own sign Pisces. Moon trines Neptune, each intuitive, each supportive in their own way. Moon sees motion, cycles and rhythms. Generally she operates current time, makes sure we are fed and comforted, sleep well and helps us with daily family interactions. Neptune is more concerned with the greater good of all beings, our Soul, life’s meaning, is an observer of trends and our place in them. Moon serves more locally. Neptune would have us sacrifice and serve globally. They both love art and their sensitivities blend the color beams and meanings until they become one. The strong citizens Cancer grows become citizens that lead our communities.

Sun in Capricorn sextiles Neptune. Capricorn is the living example of responsibility, Light in action, Love accomplished. Sun Lights the way and cheers our hearts, gives the strength to follow Neptune’s dreams. Capricorns collect the working materials to build what was invisible into a work place that inspires us to make dreams come true. Capricorns are dedicated believers when they ‘see’ the way that makes ultimate good sense. They know how to bring teams to the table, aligning all their talents so perfectly. It’s just a matter of time. Sun carries Neptune’s energy forward, Venus is nearing, so you can bet Neptune’s dream will be full of grace and brings irresistible beauty. Venus will conjunct Sun Jan 8, and Venus and Sun conjunct Pluto Jan 9! There will be a blessed culmination, a grateful ending, the deep wellsprings of a new beginning, Light in places that used to be dark!

Beautiful Grand Trine/Kite in Earth and Water signs! Moon leads the formation, pushing off beyond her usual territory. She is strong in her own sign, spurred by Mars and Jupiter in Scorpio, guided by Neptune in Pisces, also in his own sign! Water signs heal and help. Moon loves her children and ‘knows’ when there is trouble. Scorpio reads his partner and the deep hidden things that need healing in all of us, impurities we carry that impinge on all others that come in contact with us, helps us safely off load and detox. We see more clearly. Pisces helps us tune in to the greater banks of spiritual wisdom, to merge and develop compassion, raise our frequency to a more refined level, global consciousness.

On the daily basis, securing safe quarters, connecting with good schools is important to Cancers. Scorpios secure the funds we need and do tremendous healing that frees us to act on our dreams. Pisces throws mysteries our way to whet our thirst for exploration beyond the average expectations. Of course there is more! We dance at concerts, go to the art museums, maybe church on Sunday, meditate and do yoga. People keep doing fantastic things! Fascinating things seep into us and we change, sometimes without even realizing.

Now, I did say Moon has the lead. But there is a lot of weight on the other side with a four planet stellium in Capricorn, Saturn in power fresh in his own sign! The weight of the whole chart is on that side! Perhaps it’s the whole group leading the way! Capricorn can be like a dozer, pushing through stubborn obstacles! Saturn knows when people are fearful, stuck in their ways, because at one time or another they have been there themselves. They know just how to get them motivated. Respect first by inviting not ordering, dangling carrots next, rewards and payoffs that make a difference. And it doesn’t have to be money! In one spiritual system, Capricorn is the sign of Ceremonial Magic. It is a sacred ritual to care for people this way. Cancer hugs, feeds, cleans up some of the mess as the whole system moves forward.

And I will be radical. Maybe they take turns leading!?

Mercury has some great big ideas in Sagittarius, but square Chiron in Pisces, Chiron isn’t ready for them yet. So keep a file of ideas to be pursued later. Find ways to talk about them that doesn’t overwhelm the more gentle folk. Learn how to drizzle them out, leave a breadcrumb trail until they can catch up, getting them used to the bits and progression of your ideas as they come along. They will be plenty excited when they arrive, thinking they thought those things up themselves! Smile.

The powerful long term background aspect is Jupiter sextile Pluto exact the first time Jan 15, the day before the New Moon! They travel closely together FOUR months to the retrograde aspect April 14. This aspect is strongly placed in the SuperMoon chart. The Moon trines Mars then Jupiter Jan 1 & 2, then Mars carries the energy until it conjuncts Jupiter Jan 6 and sextiles Pluto Jan 8. Moon, powerful in her own sign Cancer, trine Jupiter in Scorpio could mean incredible support for important causes. Women and children may be leaders in the news and education changes. Divorce, custody and inheritances could be favorably resolved. Be ultra kind and keep long term healing in mind. Favorable marriages could be made, both for love and money! Sex could knock your socks off! New investments may be offered. Try them out. Invest more later if it goes well. Buy the home if you have the opportunity. See your astrologer to see if it is a good time for you and when your personal exact best timing is. Resolve to be of service to your community.

In Scorpio Mars is perhaps a silent partner, but is deeply courageous and terrifically on spot in Scorpio. Moon intuitively calls him to arms in her behalf for all those in danger or need. In Scorpio he can be sinuous, weaving and surfacing then going down for another look, returning with the truth of the matter, discovering how to navigate in treacherous situations. He can plant seeds along the way that dissolve some problems, allow other seeds to grow well in spite of adverse circumstances. With Jupiter, and he and Jupiter in Pluto’s sign Scorpio, he may not say so, but he will offer hope for survival in a good way. Do your part.

Happy Full Moon and Happy New Year 2018!

First New Moon of 2018!
SIX Planets in Capricorn, Jupiter Sextile Pluto, Mars!

Tuesday Jan 16 at 6:17 PM Pacific, 26 Capricorn 54!

Capricorn Crescent Fairy Wings 2018 New Moon

The day before our Capricorn New Moon Jupiter sextiles Pluto, which could be wealth, super health, the mate of a lifetime! With SIX planets in Capricorn working hard for us – six ways to Sunday, including that Pluto, we will certainly be taking steps in those directions!

Jupiter is in Scorpio, Pluto’s sign, so the link is in sync! Scorpio and Capricorn are pros. Scorpio makes the money that funds Capricorn’s goal! Capricorn uses it precisely, no time wasted, so the money goes further than expected. Good chance the project makes money before it is even finished! Scorpio makes astute relationships, whether personal or business. Capricorn places people well along the way, competently assessing their abilities, leading them to higher places they never knew they could get to. Health improves with happiness, and being in that right place at the right time can make us forget we ever had troubles. Good job!

Jupiter wants to educate, and Scorpio doesn’t spare the depth, perfecting every detail from inside to out! Jupiter sees the long term, so Scorpio opens his eyes below, above and beyond! This inner and outer vision at once opens all kinds of corridors. Old debris is carted away, energy is freed. Jupiter shouts the glory with a mighty song, perhaps not unlike the mischievous opera singer Cecilia Bartoli! Jupiter feels the huge support Scorpio offers with his strength and inner knowing. Scorpio is impassioned by the potential Jupiter sees and knows is within reach! See more

The Moon and Sun union is powerful! Moon goes through all the signs each cycle while the Sun is in that one sign. Moon brings facets of knowledge to Sun’s feet and he fills them with energy with all his Heart, lights them to brilliance! They can be gathered, brought to their full height, give their part wholly. At 26 Capricorn, one sign after the 26 Sagittarius Galactic Center, the insights from last month’s 26 Sagittarius New Moon are being worked into our daily lives.

Saturn, Capricorn’s own planet, starts the SIX planet Capricorn stellium! He sets the tone for integrity, responsibility, the ultimate practicality. He makes us aware of time and age, experience, has respect for wisdom. He is willing to work hard for core values, understands reality and necessity. Mercury had left him just days before, excited to carry the word about him, his principles, inspiring us to work as we can, the best we can, for what we believe in too.

  • Pluto is being sextiled by Jupiter as we have talked about above. Pluto in Capricorn can be pretty cool, even frozen, and perhaps he is glad to be warmed by optimistic Jupiter (Sagittarius’s planet) and the molten flow of his own sign, Scorpio’s underworld lava! Capricorn is looking at that mountaintop, but Pluto knows what lies below is the support the mountain needs. Hidden things, a mistaken premise, a weak link, can wreak havoc that may or may not be fixable. Better to prevent. Pluto was the God of the underworld. Listen to him, he’s seen it all.
  • Moon and Sun and Venus come next. Moon and Sun are only four degrees from the end of Capricorn. Sun has been in Cap 26 days now, knows what’s up and what is needed to complete the build. Moon in Capricorn brings her intuitive clarity, is Priestess of high womanhood, shepherds women and youngers to fulfill their missions. She and they take charge of what Sun can’t. Moon and Sun are making things whole – marrying male and female archetypes, allying young and old. Sun literally forges into new territory, higher dimensions, holds the Light in the darkest time of year. He mentors the way home.
  • At 26 degrees Moon and Sun are leaving Mars, Uranus and Chiron aspects behind, but carrying the knowledge forward. Mars inspires and has the courage to lead and act now! Uranus in Aries frees us from challenging old concepts, taildraggers, and teaches us how to unite disparate forces for common goals. Chiron asks for compassion, a stillness that we may see, for us to heal our addictions, to dream and believe. One day at a time. But Mars is right in with Uranus, then Chiron! 24, 24 and 25 degrees! Read on below….
  • Venus is mature in Capricorn, shifts out of Capricorn into Aquarius the next day. Moon catches up with her only 4 hours later, before she leaves. The two feminine planets merge to share caring and beauty, their special kind. There is a sweetness not always typical of Capricorn, and reality checks to keep them from falling for a wish rather than what is true. They know it is important to know that we humans are growing and rather than being perfect, it is the strength and quality of the striving that brings change and reward. They admire a working partner, gauge their choices by results.
  • The Sun doesn’t catch up with Venus until many signs later, Oct 26.

Mars has been traveling close with Jupiter since Dec 23, conjuncted Jupiter Jan 6. It has recently gained the foresight and farsightedness of Jupiter’s seeing, that Jupiter’s plans and picks stem from. And Jupiter’s optimism as well! Jupiter navigates successfully no matter what sign he is in! Though Mars is tremendously focused in Scorpio, even obsessed, there is still a broadening of attention, scanning for openings, quick ninja leaps through the eye of the needle!

Now at 24 Scorpio, Mars inconjunct Uranus at 24 Aries is a strange and amazing phenomenon. Things are off kilter and perfectly so. Mars is agile and enjoys the challenge! Mars is sure in Scorpio, but Uranus is swiftly unpredictable in Mars’s sign Aries! There is kinship, but it will not be a steady relationship. It may be long term, but random and erratic. It loosens the fibers of Mars in Scorpio and Mars surprises Uranus by magically appearing when no others could keep up! Mars may grab Uranus by the tail and hold him accountable – for a few moments, LOL!

Mars trines Chiron in Pisces. Chiron may hobble along at times, but Mars adroitly hurries him along, knowing Chiron likely has more ability than the old master lets on. Healing techniques and subtle business skills are shared. They can accomplish quite amazing feats together before others realize what has happened!

‘Fixed Stars’ is an old astrological term referring to stars rather than planets that move along the backdrop of the stars. Procyon in Canis Minor, the Puppy, is opposite our New Moon. Beware of growls, bites and slurpy kisses – maybe a hot temper, some violence! You have to know sequences to understand more of the meaning of stars. Bernadette Brady says: Procyon is the star that rises before the great Sirius, the Dog Star, the Shining One. It symbolizes rapid success but short-lived opportunities, for its bright rising light is quickly outshone by the rising of Sirius. Do business quickly, harvest your gains, move on! Opposite the New Moon may make you quite aware of this phenomena, especially if it triggers factors in your chart at 26.

Algol is at 26 Taurus trine the New Moon. Trines are good; Algol is thought of as bad, the baddest. If you are born at 26 Taurus, you may have some personal insights. The head of the Gorgon – hangings, losing your head. Depending on who and when someone is talking, Algol can be the dark, painful rage of the feminine – Lilith, sexuality. There can be intensity or ruthlessness, or an outpouring of creative work! As an earth sign, Capricorn is feminine though Saturnian, sometimes ruthless in business, could be an ardent artist leaving a valuable legacy of astonishing quantity! Algol holds the unique factor of being a binary star. It ‘blinks’ when its sister star crosses it! When she’s dark, she’s bad. Likely the Capricorn stellium in trine, astrology’s best aspect, will mitigate the dark side. Capricorns are generally not afraid of the dark.

This New Moon is a worthy leader of 2018’s New Moons! It holds the successful Jupiter sextile Pluto energy. SIX Planets in Capricorn gets the job done!!! Algol will ramp things up, surreptitiously or very up front! Blessed be, carry on!

The sad news came in this evening, Feb 11, 2012, Whitney Houston, extraordinary woman, singer, has passed at 48. My heart is sad at her difficult times and now her passing.

Whitney Houston, August 9, 1963 Leo

For those of you interested in the Astro*Logical charts, we do have her birth time, so her birth chart is accurate. She was an Aug 9 Sun/Venus Leo with Moon/Jupiter in Aries, Pisces Ascendant. Sun/Venus is beauty and blessings, self esteem issues, indulgences. Moon/Jupiter Aries can go a long way from home, have fame for being the first, #1, a leader. Pisces is an artist, a musician.

Written in Wikipedia, one of her accomplishments was ‘In October 1994, Houston attended and performed at a state dinner in the White House honoring newly elected South African president Nelson Mandela. At the end of her world tour, Houston performed three concerts in South Africa to honor President Mandela, playing to over 200,000 people. This would make the singer the first major musician to visit the newly unified and apartheid free nation following Mandela’s winning election. The concert was broadcast live on HBO with funds of the concerts being donated to various charities in South Africa. The event was considered the nation’s “biggest media event since the inauguration of Nelson Mandela.” Please see her natal chart below.’

Whitney Houston, August 9, 1963, Newark NJ, 8:55 PM

Technical note: Whitney’s death was recorded as at 4 PM after 20 minutes of CPR. She was found unresponsive at 3:30 PM, having been in the bathroom for over an hour. Her death occurred sometime in that previous hour. In the chart below, I used the mid of that hour, 3 PM, for her death chart, to see the possibilities. No matter what time you use, from 2:30 to 3:30, the death chart is Cancer/Capricorn Ascendant/Descendant, with Sun in its’ 8th house. Sun 8 is commonly death at one’s own doing.

Whitney Houston's AstroLogical Birth and Death Charts

At this time of her passing, there are two exact to-the-degree major difficult aspects formed by outer Planets. Outer planet events have long-term meaning and effect. 1) Pluto, planet of Death, is squaring her natal Mars, life force, in Libra, in her Libra house. Choices could have been out of balance, an impetuous slip made, perhaps a loss of attention mattered. It was speculated she ODed after several days of intense partying. More will come to light in the following days.

2) In the second outer planet hard aspect, Chiron in Pisces is within 6 minutes, just a fraction of a degree from opposition her Uranus, and very close to her Ascendant from the 12th house of passing of the Spirit. In old mythology, Chiron is the wounded healer/teacher. Uranus is sudden change, in this case, in her health house, in the health sign Virgo. She may have been feeling a loss of friendships as well. And transiting Uranus was inconjunct her natal Uranus, the planet of friendships and community, but also supreme lonliness at times. In so many ways, Whitney was like rarified air – her race, her voice, her fame. There’s just not that many people to talk with at that level, and the ones you know, know you too well.

Dramatically, the Moon is 16 Libra, opposite Whitney’s natal Moon at 17 Aries, Jupiter 19 Aries. It was kind of like a ‘Full Moon’ of Moons. She could have felt her luck had run out, that the Self she most wanted to be was lost, unconnected. Sometimes Lunar disturbances make us lose our memory. Perhaps she didn’t think of her child or she thought her child would never love her the way she wanted to be loved by her child, or her child didn’t need her anymore and would be ok. And, there are times when chemical collisions and certain feelings are more than the rational mind can contain. We don’t think at all.

There are some very beautiful aspects.  Pluto in Capricorn, and Jupiter in Taurus, are making a Grand Earth Trine with her Uranus/Mercury/Pluto stellium in Virgo! Uranus, apparently is the key, being in both the difficult aspect, and tying to the favorable Grand Trine as well. Uranus/Mercury indicate her unique voice, exquisite singing. Pluto adds a control and perfection to the point of enchantment. Simply, she was extraordinary. These current aspects will probably make her more famous, her legacy strengthened, her estate will make money.

She was both a strong woman, regally surpassing expectations, and had the exquisite touch of a feather. May she rest lightly.

What a difference that will be from Jupiter in oceanic watery Pisces!  Pisces, known to be magical, meditational, artistic especially with visionary art and all kinds of music, intuitive with computer software, a spiritual fisherman, a traveler upon the waves of ocean and mind, sadly a magician of denial, also has boundless compassion and dedication, giving life and Soul for their beliefs.

Jupiter will be our first planet into Aries this year.  It’s been 12 years since it was there before, and this time, since it is also Perihelion (nearest the Sun in its orbit), it makes a swift sweep through, in a breathtaking 4 months, 13 days, Jan 22 to June 4!  Usually it takes a whole year through a sign!

Aries - Breath of the Fire of Life!

Aries doesn’t make moods, they make motion! Instant perception, immediate response, uncannily right. Like first responders, they can save your life! They are great consultants. Bring them in, record the insights, let them go on to the next. They just gave you their gift. Passion and fire are their mediums.

Jupiter, planet of Sagittarius, loves to travel, the faster the better!  Skiing, skating, racing, hiking to far high places suits. In Aries they can’t wait to get started and want to get there first! If you see them coming, step aside! Jupiter has a great sense of direction, purpose, a taller long view, that can take Aries more potently into its future.  Aries is independent and Jupiter likes freedom to roam. Great combo for them, might not make their lovers or family so happy.  Promotions, publicity and publishing will be red hot! Aries has just the spark to push it over the threshold!

Jupiter thinks it is right, and Aries is willing to defend or apply the principle. If there are anger issues, this may be the time to get a grip, learn how to use your energy in a good way. There needs to be care here. Jupiter can be too blunt, feelings can get way hurt.  It may be costly in time to repair, or heartbreakingly irreparable. Not good. The axis Aries challenges is Cancer/Capricorn, Mother, Father, children, people of tender connections. The other side of Aries is Libra, our marriage mates, partners in business, legal proceedings. Be smart, savvy. If you don’t know how to hold yourself in battle, get a go between, a counselor, an attorney, whatever makes sense. The instinct of Aries is to do it all yourself. A wise person can do both, get help, and do it yourself.

Think of children born with this placement of Jupiter! Natural born leaders, fearless teachers, but you better grab the info quickly, because they already see another possibility! Keep them entertained, give them challenges they can achieve so their Spirit won’t be broken. When they are doing what they love, they will have broad minds, and a tremendous focus!

Jupiter, the WayShower, makes the Pilgrimage; Aries lights the Way – torch and candle!  On Point, Blessings on your Journey!
