Mar 28   Jupiter Opposite Saturn  This is it’s 3rd and last one!  Not only is it the last of the three, but the very last of all the 2009, 2010 difficult aspects that brought our economy down.  Hooray and hallelujah!  And in the grand scale of difficult aspects, this is not considered high on the list.

Jupiter is the big planet with the Great Red Spot, to me the Third Eye, the Seer – see-er, who looks to the future, far in the distance.  It can afford to be joyful because it knows this too will pass, and if it really is unhappy, can educate people to a different way to improve its chances, or travel on where its offerings will be appreciated, often sharing stories along the way.  In Aries, it thunders along, seven-league boots like never before!

Very different from the usually polite Libra Saturn animal who commits and won’t leave, ever.  It said it would do it, and it will.  Saturn is serious about making it work right here, pruning where needed, tucking in, using what’s at hand.  It sets priorities, and knocks them off the list with great focus, not really minding the hard work.  Great endurance and fortitude, righting and restoring balances, both in personal relationships and community wide.  But don’t be too soft.  Saturn will use its scythe, whether a look, a few to-the-point words, or simply turning its back on you.  You know you need to step up to the plate for real.  It commands respect.

Combining those strategies, or calling on them as you can, is a great skill, that makes a lot of sense, kinda the know ‘when to hold, when to fold’ principle.  Are you running away, or have you over stayed your welcome?  Is the work burdensome with little return, do you need to let go, find a better fit?  Good.  Work the balance, reach out to opposites to improve your style, extend your capacity, enjoy life more.

Mercury - Fleet Feet, Nimble Mind!

March 30 to April 23, Mercury Retrograde, 24 to 12 Degrees Aries!  In firey spirited Aries it is truly fleet of feet, nimble of mind!  The messenger of the Gods can’t wait this time! It tries out whatever presents itself in the moment, not a moment to lose!  But, as you can, be especially careful not to have your car serviced during retrograde – do it well beforehand or after.  Anticipate any mechanical or motion device needs.  Not a time to buy a car, take up a new sport or dance, make art related to fire, start a new business, print a lot of cards.  If you must do an installation or a seminar, expect delays and a ton of questions, a lot of follow up.  New friendships may fizzle, the new place may lose its sparkle.  As with all Mercury retrograde purchases, get exchangeable or returnable items, large warranties; don’t do anything you can’t afford to make a mistake about.  Not a good time to repaint that wild new color.  After the retrograde, and the Aries stellium is over, you will wonder what got into you!  But, hey, it was spiffy while it lasted!  Who would have ever thought you would do that?!  Maybe it was worth it for that alone!  Next!

Sagittarius - Bowl of Life! From Here to There!

This image may be a still life, but your life isn’t!  Sherrie Wolf knows how to capture perspectives of a Sagittaritan – abundance, distance, views of high places, a sense of joyous upwelling wellbeing!

Did you join me in gathering things in your Sagittarius Bowl Nov 30 until today, Dec 13?!

I find a wide array of items in my bowl today!
  1.  A now falling apart red rose
  2.  A randomly torn page from a book I threw away, too many personal notes it, that encourages one not to look to others for approval….
  3.  Pointy Acorns, one big, one little
  4.  Dried seed pods from a seaside mesa Neighborhood Garden Exchange
  5.  A small ceramic bowl with kitty drawn in it, gift from a garden friend
  6.  Shiny liberty $1, gift from an elder gentleman recovering from cancer
  7.  Some soil
  8.  Mary Wessely’s tarot counselor’s business card, The Sun
  9.  Package of Livingston parsley seeds (seeds again)
10.  Mini package of rice (hmm….more seeds)
11.  Persimmon leaf
12.  Liquid Amber leaf
13.  A sprig of brilliant flame colored fall leaves

I have enjoyed this fall season.  Great hiking weather.  Winter Solstice only a few days away now.  My bowl does tell some of my journey these last few days, has many stories in it.  The gathering bowl I used is an Italian bowl my dear step-daughter Ellen brought back with her.  It is painted gently with pink flowers, about 2″ high, 8″ diameter.  Please, tell me about your bowl and what you put in it!  What happened?!

Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn has brought two people back into my life, both returning to Santa Barbara after long absences, 20 years, and 30 years!  It is not uncommon in these retrogrades for items and people to return.  In Capricorn it brings matters of long standing, often related with one’s Father, matters of the rules.

Today is also the day of the 5 conjunctions!  Use it well.  Our next Bowl, in Capricorn, the Third Bowl of 4, will be Dec 28 to Jan 10, 2011.  Subscribe to stay tuned!

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS, SAGITTARIANS!
May your Journey bring you Home!

The water signs, Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, are wellsprings. Fire signs, leaders, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, follow water!

Cancer, chalice of home, begets Leo teens, confident self expression.
Scorpio empowerment through worthy sharing with partners, leads to Sagittarian confidence to promote, to travel Life’s Path.
Pisces, keeper of Spirit and Soul, makes the music that makes an Aries’s feet dance into places that were once only dreams!

Now, here we are in the last fire sign, Sagittarius, teacher, way shower. From Scorpio molten depths, to Sagittarius flaming arrows! Sagittarius is the Spirit in travel mode, finding the Path of Life, making the maps for the Soul to see, to explore, to Infinity Within, the greatest height of the rainbow arc! The greatest trip you will ever take is the one right between your own eyes, your Life! Space like you wouldn’t believe. For a Sagittarian, it’s never too big in there, and it’s always too long in one place! Not restless exactly, just a bigger curiosity quotient, motion is the name of the game! There is SO much to learn!

The more we travel, the more we learn, the greater the perspective, the knowing of the meaning of the whole. Sag wants to know what it all means, and continues to learn for the sake of learning! Traveling the inner world is a metaphor for traveling the external physical world, and vice versa! What we see that we love on the outside we need to create within, always have it in our hearts. We can travel so far, yet we are still our self.

Being far, far away, sometimes is so good. It loosens the bonds of our burdens, lets us rest, gather strength, restores our Spirit. Other times, the troubles go right along with us, dampening our Spirit. No matter which, distance helps us see so many things, a new vantage point, like rays on a wheel seeing back to the Center. And love? A woman with Sun, Jupiter, Mars and Mercury in Sagittarius says: All the miles in the world will never stop me from caring about you! Distance may be nothing at all.
