Beautiful Saturn is dancing the tightrope at 29 degrees Libra all during Aquarius, still in the same or within one degree trine with Neptune in Aquarius, then in out of sign trine when Neptune enters Pisces!  Though it is VERY close, it never makes the exact aspect because Saturn is slowing to retrograde Feb 7, and Neptune goes on into Pisces Feb 3, leaving Saturn behind.  The exact trine won’t be made until Saturn enters Scorpio in October.

The 29^th degree is considered a degree of maturity, finishing, the end, celebration!  It sets the limit, finalizes, makes the foundation for accomplishments in the following sign, in this case, Libra for Scorpio.  Saturn is necessities, work/career, Father, boundaries, Time, priorities, stone, high mountains!  Libra and Scorpio are both signs of relationship – Libra is fair balance, marriage, partnerships of all kinds.  Scorpio is intimacy, sharing of wealths, contributions, corporations.  Relationships need to be well established, respectful, in Libra, before the deeper delvings in Scorpio that require utmost trust.  At this time, Saturn gives Scorpio a good sniff, but stays in Libra (retrogrades), to take care of unfinished business, to further balance responsibilities to each other, oneself, to further consider how to negotiate respectfully, putting yourself in the other person’s place, to realize your part in things.  Saturn shows us how some things are the way they are, don’t waste time trying to change what will not change now, intelligently wait.  And it shows us how to be thankful for small changes that can multiply when kindly and steadily attended.

How symbolic that we can ‘dance’ our own 龙 Dragon of Good Fortune! We can make it as we wish, fiery, furry, green, yellow, red! Small, large! It can be Merlin’s fearsome consultant. It can be the undulating Dragon of the Chinese Dragon Dance, recommended length 112 feet!

Dragons are highly esteemed in Chinese culture, symbolic of the Supernatural, and Chinese consider themselves to be Descendants of the Dragon! It bequeaths power, courage, righteousness and dignity, is known for goodness, fertility, vigilance and poise. It scares away evil spirits and is at the end of every Chinese New Year parade.

Red is a good color choice for your Dragon because it is associated with our Western zodiacal sign Aries, whose colors are red and white – their cars often those colors! Dragons are considered to be fierce and fiery, and our Aries is a quite spirited Fire sign, a rights fighter, first responder, champion! Aries figured prominently in last year’s unprecedented 56 day grouping of 4 to 6 planets in Aries. 2012 Aries’ Chinese animal is front and center! Big ideas and success are natural. Mars is not a back seat planet!  But when retrograde either will go limp, or leap back!  It may be surprisingly shy, or because it is reviewing and more sure the second time around, come back with more strength than anticipated!  It could be unexpectedly patient, willing to rework a project, or frustrated and stomps off, or without even thinking about it, twice as fast, leaving you in the dust!  Virgo is not noted for its athleticism, though they often love walking outdoors.  Dutiful, yes, but not necessarily robust.  So this may be just the juice it needs to get going after all.

Cars, mechanical items, the fast track, new, in front and center, leadership, sports, hot sex in a moment, are all Mars talents!  Virgo is the sign of taking care of things, maintenance, organizing, accounting for cost of time and materials per returns on your investment.  Percentages count.  They are a precursor of a sort, to Libra’s fair balance formulas!  Virgo concerns tenants and pets.  Be gentle, or get it up if you have been neglecting things.  Time to clean house, wash the car, do some trials on new health regimes, push through minutiae, exercise with religion, but in general it’s not a time for elective surgeries!  If you decide to, choose a veteran health professional with an impeccable record.  Put in that new garden, make plans to redo the office.  But only do what you can pay for happily if it has to be redone!  And don’t do things you can’t take back, like first time sex!  Get receipts and know your returns policy – this aspect is almost 3 months long.  If you are doing any kind of remodeling, have all parties date and sign off on changes.  This can be a precision aspect, work it well!

Mars in Virgo goes well with other Earth signs, Taurus and Capricorn.  One lumbers, the other hesitates, so this will be encouraging as details of progress fall into place.  This Mars will challenge the other mutable signs, Gemini/Sagittarius, and Pisces.  Gemini would like to chat about it first, Virgo just wants to work.  Sag says where could we go?  Virgo says just do it.  Pisces doesn’t necessarily want to work at all, at least not hard, but Virgo is a steadfast worker, last at the office.   Cautions to the Mutable signs (Gemini/Sagittarius and Virgo/Pisces), Mars can overdo, and be too quick on the trigger!  Cancer will be glad the housework is getting done, and Scorpio will see that the job pays off.  Blessed be.

Aquarians for 2012!

2012 will abound with opportunities for Aquarians!  The June 5 Venus Transit Sun in Gemini will be in harmony with Aquarius, feeding it information to spread over the airwaves!  Both are air signs, communicator specialists.  Gemini gathers the information, Aquarius sends it out over computers, the internet.  Gemini works grassroots in the neighborhood, among siblings;  Aquarius goes community and worldwide, joining groups together!  Venus makes the messages and connections more palatable and valuable, kind and loving.  Whether it is business or your dearest cause, the opportunity for attraction is there.  Friends could become lovers!  Internet dating could be just the ticket!  Aquarian idiosyncrasies could be their biggest asset, intelligence over the top!

The Uranus square Pluto, sizzles and simmers with Aquarius since Uranus is Aquarius’s planet.  There is a call to awaken, change and mend.  Uranus is sparking through Aries, goes well with Aquarius the electric sign, both wanting independence, freedom, to act, just to breathe free clean air.  Pluto in Capricorn is a challenge.  It is power over old monetary systems and politics, rigid to the death perhaps.  But Pluto is also a cleaner/healer!  No escaping.  So, the cosmic ninja are confronting huge inbred stinky archaic systems.  Pluto is famous for infiltrating, working from behind the lines, from within.  Surreptitiously ideas are being suggested to create desire for a new potential, to take advantage of planetary shifts.  Revelation is on!

2012 Elections!  It is right up Aquarius’s alley to get community together for their politician of choice, the one who will do the most good for the longest gain.  Aquarians are money smart, the number one sign of bankers, the sign of the money of business.  Whether working for political funding, financial advantages, a health cause or environmental concern, Aquarians are natural organizers of people, and they think in big numbers.  If it is time for a class action suit, get an Aquarian involved.

Though Jan 1 is our calendrical New Year, Jan 4  Earth’s perihelion, when it is closest to the Sun during the year, is thought by some to be the true New Year!  For others yet, it is Winter Solstice, Dec 21, marking the return of the Sun King!  Whichever you celebrate, or if you celebrate them all, an equal opportunity celebator, may your New Year be loving, wise, healthy, abundant,  joyous!  If you are a Dragon, it’s your year!  For us astrologically minded, we are thinking it is a very eventful year to come – the Venus Transit Sun, Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn exact for the first times, our Presidential Elections, 12:12:12, the 26,000 year turnover of the Mayan Calendar!   Blessed be!  See the Important 2012 Astro*Logical Highlights!  I’m so glad we are all connected.  This is a journey to be shared!

Jan 8 Full Moon at 18 Cancer/Capricorn, 11:30 PM Pacific, our first of 2012!  It starts the 2012 Lunar year at 18 degrees, the closest and only planet in the mix is Mars at 21 Virgo!  The Moon is sextile Mars, the Sun is trine!  Looks like motivation, leadership, exercise make the difference.  In practical Virgo, it could be organizing your work, taking health matters into your own hands, getting a new pet?!  Enlisting the help of your family may cost less, or simply hiring a helper may keep peace.  There may be tender feelings with Mama Moon in her own water sign Cancer, so gentle down your approaches, soften your voice.  Capricorn can seem too businesslike at times, but gets the job done; Mars is so gung-ho there is no particular thought, just spontaneous action.  If Cancer has been dawdling, eating too much, Mars and Cap may be just the ticket to get out and get something going!  Often even a small start is all it takes to tip the balance!

Getting ready for the 2012 Mars Retrograde Jan 23 to April 13 Pacific times!  Mars retrogrades in earth sign Virgo from 23 degrees back to 3.  Get your machinery in order, including your vehicle, bicycle if you commute with it.  Clean things up that could cause a slow down or lost time looking for lost items.  When you put that item where you will be sure to find it, perhaps put notes in a couple of places to help you locate it in case your thinking changes by when you need it.  Get orders filled, have enough stock on hand as you can anticipate to keep things going smoothly so you don’t have to wait for delayed materials.  We are talking 11 weeks’ worth.  See your health advisors.  Take care of any pet matters.  Take care of complications with new projects, employer/employee matters, tenancy issues, bookkeeping.  Some of this will depend on which house(s) and which of your planets are activated in your personal chart, so let’s take a look at that for you.

Capricorn, the Candle of Winter 

This Capricorn marks it being a year from the time the Mayan Calendar turnover occurs in Dec 2012!  Capricorn, of Saturn and Father Time, is always the sign that Greets the New Year!  It’s a time of rituals,  honoring wisdom, applying skills accrued to over winter.  Sharing and gifting declare our love and bonding, our implied willingness to help if needed.  As Capricorn is associated with unbelievers and Scrooge, over conserving, it is also when Angels and the magic of the generosity of St Nicolas, Santa Claus, comforts us, makes us feel safe.  We will be cared for no matter what!  Light is believed to come from the Dark.

Capricorn’s connection to 2012’s June 5 Gemini Venus Transit the Sun, will be to make sure every word counts, no idle chit-chat, but to focus input keeping priorities, writing down the goals, taking charge, making sure they get done.  In fact, the Moon will BE in Capricorn during the Venus Transit Sun!  When things get stuck and stuffy, Gemini will bounce out a few more ideas and a breath of fresh air will get things going again!  Venus knows it is important to say things with a smile and from the heart with a lot of love, ESPECIALLY the tough things.  The tougher the customer, the brighter the smile, yours, and often theirs!  And smiles are free!  Cap works hard to bring love to life!  It knows words have meaning and timing counts.  Organizations like ToastMasters, are a force!  Master is one of Capricorn’s words!

Winter Solstice, the first day of Capricorn, is like a New Year Day for Earth!  The Sun King returns, the days get longer!  It seems fitting the Mayans might have chosen such a day for their 26,000 year turnover!  Not everyone agrees on this date, but personally, I’m ok with it whether it is ‘right’ or not.  One way or another, we will honor the change of times.  As always, I think such times of change are much longer than a day.  We have had long-term governments falling, the whole world is experiencing economic change, the internet has opened our thinking exponentially.  In the scheme of 26,000 years, even the 60s could be included in this state of profound change!  It could easily be a 100+ years period of change.  Individual Enlightenment can happen at the snap of fingers, an epiphany in a moment, but collectively, it takes more time.  First one, then another, and another….

It seems fitting such a magic date of change should occur in Capricorn, the  sign of time and science, archaeological antiquities, profound archetypes, the Builders of the Future.  It crosses a total spectrum of energy.  On the one side, under the cold crisp snow, is hibernation, slow mo, bears birthing cubs in the cave.  The other side holds incredible zest as the topsiders glide on skis turning somersaults down the slope!  The air is clean, invigorating.  The sun sparkles on each particle of brilliant snow, or wave, bewitching, delighting every moment!  The nights are starry and enchanting!

There are no exact outer planet transits during this Capricorn.  There are three ongoing outer planet transits of note, involving all the outer planets!!!  Mars is getting ready to retrograde, which it does only every two years.

• Jupiter in Taurus is closely sextile Chiron in Pisces all during Capricorn.  It starts while Jupiter is still Retrograde; Jupiter directs Christmas Day, Dec 25.  Then things will start moving forward, slowly at first.

Taurus and Pisces can both be very sweet signs, though Taurus is sometimes thought to be selfish and unmovable, and Pisces simply oblivious.  Both have very strong associations with Venus – in Taurus, a beautiful body, love, attracting money.  In Pisces, the love of Soul, soulmates, surrender to another or a cause one loves more than one loves oneself, the ability to live in sacrifice, poverty.  At times that can be a form of non contribution, another form of selfishness!  Yet, in simple earthly ways, Taurus is grains in the fields; Pisces provides the fishes – the loaves and the fishes – let no one go hungry.  Jupiter wants generous well being through knowledge.  Chiron is intentional healing.  Learn and be healed.  Education releases Magic!  More

• The most long term aspect is the Uranus square Pluto.  It has been with us in close range since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008.  For some it has been a very long passage.  When it passes their degree(s) of activation, it will lighten and changes made will pay off.  The square itself happens 7 times exactly!  The first is June 24, 2012, the last is March 16, 2015, at 8, then 6 degrees Aries/Capricorn.

Spark, fizzle and sizzle!  Uranus rules lightening and Pluto rules the Underworld.  The 8^th and last Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, surely fits this time!  Uranus is the unusual and Pluto is death and wealth – Deathly Hallows is the fastest selling book of all time, selling 15 million copies in the first 24 hours.  Authoress J.K. Rowling is the first female billionaire novelist (Forbes).  Uranus rules the Internet.  At 27, Dustin Moskovitz, co-founder of facebook, is the world’s youngest billionaire. Net worth: $3.5 billion.  Mark Zuckerberg, facebook’s founder, only 8 days older, is worth 17.5B, America’s 14th-richest man!

The rest of us are succeeding and failing in our various ways.  Financial matters afoot, death stalking some of us, parents working hard to give their children good lives, many are giving their shirts politically and in person to save our planet.  The Internet is a more powerful tool than ever imagined, keeping us informed, gathering fundings, sending petitions at crucial times.  Shaken and stirred….

Dec 24  Christmas Eve New Moon at 2 Capricorn, 10:06 AM Pacific.  In the last Lunar action of 2011, several planets are in close relationships with each other.  Our 2 degree Cap New Moon is semi sextile Venus and trine Jupiter, the two most favored planets – love, money, travel, education!  It is in positive sextile Chiron of marriage, business ventures and healing.  The challenging square with Uranus throws in a wild card…who knows what will come, who will come and go?!  Perhaps better to trust yourself rather than a friend at this time.  The New Moon is conjunct Pluto, no argument, a powerful connection.  Can be extraordinary financial ideas, deeper relationship, matters of retirement or end of life as it has been known.  Things can come to a screeching halt, end, or be cleared for an unforgettable passage that endures against all odds!  The Sun is in his annual conjunction with Pluto, strongly in effect until exact Wed Dec 28.  Pluto Capricorn type businesses started under this auspice may thrive until they make their last conjunction in Capricorn Dec 2023, eleven years.

Just in time for Christmas shopping!  Tuesday Dec 13 Mercury directs at 3 Sagittarius 52.  That will be at 5:43 PM Pacific.  When planets direct, are at station, they are virtually standing still, in the station. For Mercury that’s about 8 days, 4 before, 4 after the direct day. Take it easy. I know you have a lot to do, only 10 more days until Christmas, but it will go faster if you wait until Mercury gets a little motion. It will start with more momentum and keep going gaining more speed. If you start it at station, often, it sits. And sits. Never really getting off to a good start. Or you have to keep at it, keep pushing, work harder. Sometimes more than it’s worth.

Now you can finalize holiday plans, get the rest of your holiday gifts, do your organizing. Sandra Bullock, July 26, 1964, and Keanu Reeves, Sep 2, 1964, both have Jupiter in Taurus and Chiron in Pisces, and they have each other! They have been dating during 2011!

The mythological story of Chiron was he was different from the other centaurs, intelligent, kind, a medicine man, astrologer, oracle.  Stories vary, but he was wounded with a wound he couldn’t heal.  In one version, he gave up his immortality so Prometheus could be freed and live.  Aesculapius, the Father of Medicine, was one of Chiron’s many students.  Jupiter is a little more complicated, perhaps, with Chiron because they are of the same Centaurian root, yet different.  Mythologically speaking, we’re putting Jupiter of Sagittarius high-stepping centaurs with Chiron, a serious guy – peaceful, revered healer/teacher.  Right now with Jupiter in soft walking Taurus, and Chiron in Pisces, a sign of solitude and spirituality, art and music, devotion, the scale is tipped to the Chiron side.  What do you think?  Still, Jupiter is Jupiter, one who can’t sit still, Chiron is ever so quietly, super sensitively, waiting for your undivided attention!  Alright, so let’s take it on the road.  We’ll see great places and as we walk along,  when I stop to rest, you can talk at me.  Some info will come in and settle, other will float in readiness, some will be entirely lost to the ethers.  We’ll keep doing reviews, give it time.  Where would you like to go?  In addition, the Magi astrologers say Chiron rules marriage and business also.  Ok if it’s a travel or educationally related business, but Jupiterians are often tough to nail down to marriage.

This Jupiter sextile Chiron set is traveling with its Jupiter trine Pluto in Capricorn set.  Pluto, in contrast with Chiron, was the god of the Underworld, the Dead, definitely not a partier, and teaching is no longer an issue.  Sometimes Death is referred to as the Great Healer, finally we are freed from this veil of tears.  We refer to Money as the Healing Green.  Pluto has to do with both of those, sexuality, what happens in the dark, the unseen, the unknowable, the Great Mystery, therapists, the Serpents on the Physicians staff, corporations and their unseen mergers, money magic.  It’s all about what is worth living for.  Chiron is the Light of education; Pluto heals us when we are in our dark times that the Mortal Soul passages time to time.  If we survive, we have power, and at times, invincibility, definitely charisma!

Put Jupiter of zest for life, robust teacher and seeker of Truth, with Pluto of those who still choose to live, the Undead!  Could bring them right out, though there is that part of Pluto (ruler of Scorpio) that likes being unseen, the spiritual ninja working behind the scenes!  Maybe it would just accentuate that, Jupiter goes underground into the Cave of the SubConscious to map this territory as well!
