Some General Thoughts About How Astrology Works….

When planets are activated, sometimes there is an event.  If that topic is up to par in our life, or we aren’t ready yet, sometimes nothing happens.  Nothing happens, to us, if aspects don’t activate our personal chart.  Events can happen before, during, or after the exact date of a planetary combination.  You may be eager and jump the gun, or lagging and weary, delaying.  The timing duration varies because planets move at different rates, and in concert with other planets’ timing, some faster, some slower.  Some planet combinations happen only once, often three times, and as many as seven!  Usually what we learn about a topic takes time and mulling, experiencing, taking time outs, then getting back to it.  Because people’s charts are as different as snowflakes, things mean different things to different people.   And, there are many facets to each Sign and Planet.  For example, three topics that can interest the Sign Leo are athletics, teaching in some way, enjoying creative arts of some form.  So activation of that sign in your chart could light up all three or only the one that needs attention, or even another matter, but it is usually personal.  Astrology is complex.  Think of predictions as time periods rather than an exact date; do your preparations accordingly.

The Details

The Moon activates our charts for about 10 hours, when it is close in an aspect.  

Mercury and Venus activate what they connect with for about 3 days, the Sun and Mars for about a week.  This time frame can change dramatically when they are in Retrograde patterns.

The outer Planets, Jupiter, Saturn, comet Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, are a different story!  Jupiter is about a year per Sign!  Saturn is 2 to 2 1/2 years.  Chiron takes 51 years to complete the circle.  Uranus is 7 years per sign.  Neptune and Pluto move only about 3 degrees per year.  They move so slowly they can take 3 years to make one close activation!  If you have several planets in close degrees with one another, as a planet makes connections with them, one after another, the process can take many years!  No surprise when you hear people say ‘It took 7 years.’  Or it took 10, 15, long years.

However.  Some people think that, for other than the Moon, the 3 days, the two before and the day of, an aspect, is the HOT period, with the exact moment the most powerful.  If it isn’t connected with your chart, then you won’t likely be affected, or as much.  It will be a peripheral event.  If you have great aspects to your birth chart, in general, at that time, and the aspect is a good one, make that your launch date!  Let me help you pick the perfect time of day!
